Terracotta Gallery

Terracotta Gallery

The dimly lit gallery of terracotta objects generates the rustic aura of villages where soiled hands of our craftsmen shape cooking pots and storage containers of varying sizes. Other interesting artefacts such as the clay pots from Puri and votive horses from Keonjhar find a proud place in the gallery. The Tulsi Chaura or the planter for the sacred Basil plant, is inspired by the traditional spires of Kalingan temples. The section also houses of painted terracotta objects such as bangles, tiles, toys and pots. Do take a minute to see the photographs on the walls that explain the process of pottery making.
